20.b.iii Numbered edition. Full cloth binding with inset pictorial of the frontispiece, normal font gold foil stamping with fleuron between author and title on spine, signed by Thomas Tessier: 50(?) of 300 limitation - $65

20.b.iv Numbered edition. Full cloth binding with full height printed front board of the frontispiece, silver foil stamping on spine, signed by Thomas Tessier: 150 (?) of 300 limitation - $65

The numbered edition cranks variants up a notch with four verified variants. The first variant is smallest in height and thus has a thicker page block. Three variants have a pictorial in the front board and 1 has a fully printed  front board. Stamping on the spine differs for all 4 as described. The fifth variant might have gold foil stamping of title and author above the pictorial, like Nightfall and Street of no Return. I have only seen this as a mock-up and not in a photograph. Variant 20.b.iii was confirmed with number 97 while 20.b.iv was confirmed with number 118 and 237. So 20.b.iv state might have the biggest print run from 100-300 with the 20.b.i ii and iii making up the first 100.

CP website synopsis

Bobby Ives never meant to hurt his lover. It was a bizarre accident, a morbid impulse, with his hands apparently pushing her beneath the wheels of a city bus. Then it happened again, a playful race with a jogger in Hyde Park. And that was just the beginning. Thomas Tessier’s take on the werewolf novel is one of the more inventive and challenging works in the genre, and the novel has a highly esteemed reputation.
Our handsome edition has a new introduction by Jack Ketchum, a new afterword by the author, a bonus short novel, The Dreams of Dr Ladybank, and the original Signet paperback cover art. In addition, we also feature a reproduction of the Pan Books poster that promoted the book back in 1979. Limited to 300 copies. Signed by Thomas Tessier.
