The Martian standard

10.a Standard: Printed buckram cloth full binding. Printed letterpress on Munken Lynx White 120gsm paper. Only state with a dustjacket. Slipcase made of "rust" buckram cloth. Limitation 500.

10.b Deluxe: Red suedel binding. Black paper onlay across front, spine and back. Two-hit foil stamping on rounded spine. Printed letterpress on Munken Lynx White 120gsm paper. Slipcase made of matching red suedel en black paper. Limitation 200.

10.c Lettered: Bound fully in custom made paper by Cave Paper resembling the surface of Mars. Printed letterpress on Mohawk Superfine White 148gsm paper. Rounded spine, all 3 edges gilded gold. Hand-marrbled end-papers by Freya Scott of Paperwilds. Solander of black alcantara with two alcantara onlays across the base and three-hit foil stamping. Limitation 26.

Standard state

Limited to 500 copies only, the Standard Edition is over 370 pages and is letterpress printed on Munken Lynx White 120gsm paper by Hand & Eye Press, London. This is the only version with the wraparound dustjacket art by Yuxing Zhang.

The boards are bound in a printed buckram cloth which has a Mark Watney “ID Card” design across the front and the back, underneath the dustjacket. The spine is rounded and comes with blue head and tailbands and a “rust” coloured ribbon. This edition comes with an illustrated endpaper by Yuxing Zhang.

The slipcase is covered in a “rust” heritage buckram bookcloth and has two hits of foil stamping on both sides in white and black. Each copy is handbound by Ludlow Bookbinders.

This edition is signed by both the author and the artist.
