A grisly classic of the occult, originally published in 1933, and quite erotic and disturbing even today. In fact, The Werewolf of Paris can be read either as a memorable novel of the werewolf or a examination of a psychological delusion, clinical lycanthropy.
       Bertrand is the bastard son of a priest and a simple country girl. He is born on Christmas day with hairy palms and dark eyebrows meeting on the bridge of his nose, and he howls instead of cries. As Bertrand grows, he suffers from murderous dreams and his animal nature emerges when he visits a local brothel. Only his uncle, Galliez, suspects his true nature.
       Our edition, the only edition currently in print, features a new introduction by Thomas Tessier (author of The Nightwalker), the complete text of the novel, numerous wood engravings, and a color gallery of old hardcover and paperback covers as well as film adaptations.
